Meh.

June 22nd, 2008 | Category: Personal Tech News

Nothing exciting today…never news on Sundays. Well…I will be getting an iPhone 3G, hopefully on the 11th…but I doubt I’ll get there early enough. So…I’ll try my luck on that Sat/Sun/Mon. I’ll post up a full review with pics after I get it and am done staring/drooling at it/on it.

I’m speechless

I can’t even begin to explain how good this speaker system is. It pumps out 5.1 sound like there’s no tomorrow. The setup I have works perfectly. I really couldn’t have asked for a better setup than I have now. And, to top it all off, I got it all for under $250. That’s sweet.

Change of plans

December 24th, 2007 | Category: Personal Tech News

I’ve decided to change the way to get surround sound on my MacBook Pro. Since I recently found out that the sound output port is not only a headphone jack but it’s also a mini-Toslink (mini-Optical (digital audio)) port. Which is great, because a company off amazon sells a a mini-Toslink to Toslink adapter for less than 2 dollars (and I have an extra toslink (optical) cable sitting around). So since I don’t need Griffin FireWave anymore, I decided to go all out on the speakers (and the system I bought didn’t have optical input). So I decided to go out and buy the Logitech z-5500 set. Not only is it THX-certified, but it’s got both coaxial and optical inputs for two digital signals (not like I need it, but it’s nice if you want to hook two things up to it for surround sound). All in all, a great buy. AND, to top it all off, it was marked down from $400 to $243. Now that’s a really great buy.
